We at Christ Episcopal Church feel we have a unique mission to fulfill by carrying out Christ's work in new and challenging ways. We invite you to join us in this mission.

Following is a list of groups, organizations, and activities which make up the life of the Christ Church community. We hope you find something of interest. Let us know how we can best include you and your family in our family.

The Vestry

The vestry is the elected governing body of the church. The vestry currently meets on the third Tuesday of each month during fall, winter and spring. During the summer months the vestry does not meet on a regular basis, but does share a day of planning and fellowship during a day-long retreat. Current vestry members are:

Christ Church Choir ~ The Choir sings many Sundays and on special occasions. Choir practices are on Wednesdays at 7:30 pm. Please contact Jim Hager with questions.

Acolytes ~ Acolytes are an integral part of church services. Acolytes participate in the opening and closing processions, and help to serve at the altar during services. Altar Guild ~ The Altar Guild is a community of people who prepare the altar and church buildings for worship. Open to men and women of all ages, this active group pairs up each week to prepare churches for service, and meets on Saturday mornings twice a month for altar maintenance. Parish Life Committee ~ The Parish Life Committee is an active group that coodinates the Christ Church Community. Often refered to as the "party committee" Parish Life hosts the monthly 3rd Sunday Bruch, organizes and provides food for the Lenten Program each year, and plans field trips for the congregation. Sunday School & Youth Groups ~ Sunday School meets Sundays at 9 am, September through May. All ages are welcome and encouraged to attend. Check out the Youth Happenings page for more information on youth activities. Please contact Doneen Fitzsimmons or Mary Keller with questions.

Adult Education ~ The adult education program is provided on Sunday mornings,from September through May. All adults are welcome and encouraged to attend.

Education for Ministry ~ EFM is an advanced educational program for adults. This four year course is coordinated by Sewanee School of Theology in Tennessee. EFM provides an in-depth study of the Episcopal Church. Meetings are Monday at 6 pm, September through May. Scholarships are available through the church for Christ Church members. Focus on Mission Outreach

Mission Committee ~ The Mission Committee supports outreach projects that serve the social, mental and physical needs of people and enrich the lives of those in our local, state, regional, national and international communities. Outreach projects are recommeded to the vestry for approval.

Bargain Box Stores ~ These properties, including a secondhand clothing, and secondhand furniture store are managed under contract as an outreach ministry of Christ Church. Proceeds from the stores are used to fund mission outreach projects supported by the parish. For more information on this unique ministry visit the BARGAIN BOX OUTREACH page.

Wayfarer's Chapel ~ Located 8miles from the East Entrance of Yellowstone National Park, on the Northfork Highway, this outdoor chapel offers a special place of worship to local residents and visitors. Church services are help Sunday at 10 am, from mid-June through Labor Day weekend (in 2005 the services will end July 31st). The chapel is available for weddings and special services. Worship Leaders & Eucharistic Ministers ~ Lay people serve as integral members of the Christ Church family. Assisting in church services, providing outreach services to homebound church members, and conducting services at Wayfarer's Chapel during summer months are all part of the lay person's ministry. Lay Readers and Lay Eucharistic Ministers are licensed lay ministers of the Episcopal Church. Training is necessary.
